Pushing the envelope,
leading the way

City of Santa Ana’s Hazardous Materials Area Plan (HazMAP)
Working together, TAIT and the Santa Ana Fire Department (SAFD) uncovered inherent deficiencies in the existing Area Plan’s required format—that it was cumbersome and generally not used during actual HAZMAT emergencies.

The challenge was to create something that had never been done before, to create an area plan that would give responders rapid access to critical information during an incident.  TAIT worked closely with the Santa Ana Fire Department to create an enhanced “electronic” version of an Area Plan called HazMAP.

This revolutionary navigable map shows all of the city’s fire hydrants, storm drains, schools, roads, hospitals and more. Users can simply “click” on a business and retrieve its site-specific business plan, which provides a chemical inventory, site maps and business contact information. HazMAP also provides easy access to key technical reference documents, such as the Emergency Response Guidebook and the Area Plan. This speeds

access to chemical-specific information and allows users to perform plume modeling.

California Underground Storage Tank Designated Operator Certification Training
Once again, TAIT created a solution to fill a vitally important need. New California environmental regulations for Underground Storage Tank (UST) training – instituted on January 1, 2005 – required all underground storage operators to list a Designated Operator for their facility.

TAIT launched a comprehensive Certification Training Course for California UST Designated Operators that combines high-impact visual aids, four decades of expertise, and a money-back promise of success. To date, over 3,000 have taken this training and passed the state-mandated exam.

Bubblexsm
Bubblexsm is an innovative patented method for the clean-up of contaminated soil and groundwater. Traditional pump and treat systems remove contaminated groundwater using downhole pumps under gravity drainage forces. It is a slow process and requires costly aboveground water treatment equipment such as an air stripper and/or a carbon treatment unit.

TAIT’s patented Bubblexsm system of soil and groundwater treatment uses a specially designed extraction pipe and wellhead assembly to strip hydrocarbons from groundwater with up to 99% efficiency. It simultaneously extracts vapor and water using high vacuum and a one-inch diameter pipe modified to air lift the extracted liquid.

Bubblexsm is a patented (U.S. Patent # 5,906,241) service mark of TAIT ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, Inc. (TAIT) for bubbling extraction, a patent-pending method to extract volatile hydrocarbons (i.e. gasoline components), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene [BTEX], MTBE and chlorinated compounds from groundwater and soil.

“HazMAP has been invaluable in assisting scene commanders with anticipating and mitigating hazards to the public and the environment.”
