A-Town Public Street Improvements - Anaheim
Project Scope
The TAIT team was tasked with providing engineering design services for approximately 3,300 linear feet of major arterial public street widening improvements to Katella Avenue, Gene Autry Way and State College Boulevard. The street improvements were part of the City of Anaheim’s master plan for the Platinum Triangle project (an urban redevelopment of 820 acres).
Project Challenges
TAIT was not the sole contractor on this project and needed to work with other site developers and the client’s on-site engineer. Also, project approvals were required from the City of Anaheim and Caltrans. Obtaining such approvals was a time-consuming task that required a lot of attention to detail to minimize redesign and agency reviews.
TAIT Solution
Always ready to work with other members of the project team, TAIT monitored and coordinated design changes from other site developers and the client’s on-site engineer into the design plans as they occurred. TAIT was also able to communicate changes with the City of Anaheim and Caltrans in a timely manner, minimizing additional review time. Tait was able to process approvals quickly, including obtaining City of Anaheim approval of several non-standard features, resulting in reductions of construction impacts to adjacent existing developments.
