
The user
interface for emergency responders is divided into three parts:
Search
& Key Features Window: Input the address or intersection
of the emergency and zoom to that location on the map. Select key
features to display on the map such as:
• fire
hydrants
• fire
management zones/districts
• fire
stations
• hospitals
• manholes
• police
stations
• regulated
businesses (hazardous materials-containing facilities)
• rivers
and waterways
• sewer
lines
• storm
drains and lines
Map:
Displays the selected key features on a satellite-based map. Users
can pan, zoom in or out, rotate and even change the viewing angle.
Data
Window: When a regulated business is selected on the map,
HazMAP links instantly to its electronic data files and displays
the business plan for that facility in the data window. Site-specific
business plan information may include chemical names and quantities,
evacuation procedures, site maps, business owner/operator contact
information, etc. The data window also provides access to:

Electronic resource
documents can also be selected and displayed such as Hazardous Materials
Area Plans, region-specific emergency contacts, etc.
